England commonwealth training camp – summery
Firstly I would like to thank all the athletes and parents for supporting the training camp.
The training camp was put on by myself and supported by the following coaches.
Sensei Julian Mallalieu – assistant coach
Sensei Kelly Horsfall – assistant coach
Nicola Priest- yoga (Exhale Yoga Studio)
David Inman – EKF chief medical officer
I am extremely grateful to them all and along with myself gave up their time for free to support and develop the national Kata squad.
Thank you to local business in supporting the England national team and the training camp.
Paul David Oldham – team photographer
Valentino’s restaurant
Olivers Pantry
Wakeman house café
Ripon Grammar School
The aim was to prepare the athletes for the upcoming commonwealth championships along with building confidence,  team spirit and relationships.
To enable great coaching and positive athlete performances it is imperative to build strong relationships. I felt this was the main achievement to come from the camp.
All athletes were a credit to themselves, parents and the national Kata team. I was extremely proud to lead them in all aspects of the training camp and look forward to using the commonwealth championships as a catalyst to future success.
